History Established in 2004 Honson & Honson Eye Care was established in 2004 at 5911 Johnson Drive. In January 2012, it was sold to Dr Jason Pingel who renamed it Mission EyeCare. In February of 2013, the practice was moved to it’s new permanent building at 6120 Johnson Drive, where it now resides. Meet the Business Owner:
Jason P. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Iowa State University, Dr. Pingel matriculated to the Illinois College of Optometry where he completed both his doctorate and B.S.V.S. in 2000. He then completed a post-doctorate internship with the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine at the University of Chicago where he received extensive training in ocular disease and emergency eye care. Since 2003, Dr. Pingel has been in private practice in the Kansas City area with emphasis on the treatment of chronic ocular disease, pediatrics and advanced contact lens fitting. He has vast experience with ocular complications associated with Lyme’s Disease and its treatment. Dr. Pingel has participated in several contact lens clinical trials, and as a trusted leader in the industry, he is also a national speaker for Johnson & Johnson VisionCare, makers of Acuvue brand contact lenses.
