Asbury United Methodist Church

Specialties Asbury United Methodist Church is a place where “progressive and inclusive Christianity is practiced and preached.” Every spring and fall Asbury hosts a Day or Week of Caring where volunteers get involved with multiple charitable organizations around the Greater Kansas City area including Cross-Lines, L’Arche Overland Park, Kingswood Manor and many more. In August of 2012 Asbury was proud to host Our Family Gathering for United Methodists from Kansas and Nebraska to learn and share ideas of how to make the United Methodist Church an inclusive place where any and all people are welcome, specifically those who might identify as LGBT.
